If you want to create a great childrens play area in your garden then you dont have to begin with building your own diy shed straight away, you can begin with a standard square playhouse or a prefabricated shed which are available in most home improvement stores.

A playhouse though can differ from a standard DIY garden shed because you can include two levels in your shed design to simulate an “upstairs” and “downstairs”. Your shed plan should also sho you how to build safe ladders and how to fix them securely to accomodate this type of shed design.

One final point I would like to emphasise if you intending on building a two level playhouse which is this; Please ensure that when you reach the top higher windows in your shed design, to ensure that they are to small for a child to fall out of or fit through. This is usually done by crossing the main frame into four smaller squares.
